Epic Films was established in 2010 by Kirsty Stark and Vivyan Madigan as a way of producing two short films to be shot in s16mm film. Our small company has grown in leaps and bounds since its humble beginnings.
After getting our first taste of bringing creative projects to life with L’Artiste! and Landscape Scene, we began searching for other projects that would satisfy our creative aspirations. We completed two more short films – The Beekeeper and A Long Time Coming, before beginning work on Wastelander Panda, our most ambitious project to date.
With the intention of creating a television series in the long-term, we initially developed Wastelander Panda as a three-minute Prologue about the last remaining the lucky nugget online casino panda in a post-apocalyptic Wasteland, which was released in January 2012.
After the Prologue received 100,000 views in its first 3 days online thanks to the contributions of Ella Macintyre, we were fortunate to convince her to join the Epic ranks as a company director and Producer of Marketing & Distribution.
Wastelander Panda has continued its successful journey, with the release of three web episodes and an interactive website in May 2013. We have now entered into a co-production deal with Madman, and together are writing six new episodes, with development financing from the ABC and South Australian Film Corporation.
We are always on the lookout for original content to develop and produce. Please direct treatments or scripts to email@example.com.
